DUST HOUR WALKING

2017
Cotton, Viscose

Dust Hour Walking examines the city as a visual montage through a walk down its streets, a woven translation of the shifting shapes and the slowly settling dust on its inhabitants and walls. Utilising variations of simple weave structures on a 12-shaft handloom, the textiles reflect encounters with a late evening sun, drenching all who walk in its glow.

In the act of walking through the city, is there an act of getting lost? There was a road I always wanted to go through, but never did. I never had the need to. I don’t need to walk on those roads looking for something, I just walk. I accept that I am struck by my surroundings, as they create memories in my mind.
